Interpretation and Translation is the flagship academic journal published by the Korean Society for Translation and Interpreting (KSTI). The journal is indexed in the Korea Citation Index (KCI) and serves as a leading scholarly forum for research in Translation and Interpreting Studies in Korea. It publishes original research articles addressing both theoretical and practical issues in the field and is issued biannually in June and December.

Aim & Scope

The journal welcomes original research covering all areas of Translation and Interpreting Studies, including but not limited to Translation and interpreting theory, Translation and interpreting pedagogy, Translation criticism, Machine translation and post-editing, Translation and interpreting markets and industries, Sign language interpreting, Community interpreting and translation, Legal and court interpreting, Healthcare and medical interpreting, Translation technologies and tools, Emerging issues and interdisciplinary approaches in Translation and Interpreting Studies

Submission Guidelines

- Manuscript Preparation
Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished works related to Translation and Interpreting Studies. Manuscripts may be written in either Korean or English. As a general rule, submissions should not exceed 25 A4 pages, including footnotes, references, and appendices.

- Peer Review Policy
All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-anonymous peer-review process conducted by three independent reviewers. Review decisions are categorized as follows: Accept, Accept with Revisions, Reject.

- Review and Publication Fees
Review Fee: KRW 60,000 | Publication Fee: KRW 200,000
Excess Page Charge: KRW 10,000 per page for manuscripts exceeding 20 pages

- Submission System
Manuscripts must be submitted through the Society’s online submission system. Authors are required to upload a blinded manuscript file with all identifying information removed to ensure a fair and impartial review process.
